Lowlands 2026: three days of camping, music and arts in Biddinghuizen
Lowlands is hard to pin down to a line-up alone. Launched in 1993 and run by Mojo Concerts, "A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise" is a three-day camping festival that pairs, according to Wikipedia, more than 200 concerts with cinema, street theatre, stand-up, dance and literature across more than ten stages. Every third weekend of August, close to 55,000 festival-goers pitch their tents in Biddinghuizen, the Netherlands, right next to the Walibi Holland park. The 2026 edition runs from 21 to 23 August.
Musically, anything goes. The collective Major Lazer and New Zealand's Lorde top a bill that also features Australia's Parcels, the techno of Richie Hawtin, the melodic hardcore of Turnstile, plus Floating Points, Blood Orange, Amyl and The Sniffers and Ireland's Kneecap.
That spread captures the festival's DNA, sweeping indie, pop, electronic and hip-hop with no hierarchy. The immersive camping experience sets Lowlands apart from day festivals: you live on site from Friday to Sunday, between concerts and cultural programming.
