📋About
Stowaway Festival 2026: drum & bass, jazz and soul in the British tradition
Rooted in the tradition of the most eclectic British festivals, Stowaway Festival offers an extraordinary sonic journey each late July, blending drum & bass, jazz, funk and afrobeat. Its originality lies in its ability to bring together seemingly distant musical scenes under one banner: Black music in all its diversity.
The 2026 programme unites artists at the crossroads of multiple worlds: SKREAM, a British dubstep pioneer reinvented as a house selector, and KOKOROKO, the London afrobeat collective on the rise. London Elektricity represents the pinnacle of atmospheric drum & bass, while Gabriels embodies the soul-gospel revival.
Stowaway's palette is deliberately wide: house, disco, reggae, hip-hop and UK garage weave a musical tapestry that reflects Britain's cultural richness. Jazz and afrobeat stages bring welcome acoustic warmth alongside the electronic dancefloors.
Stowaway Festival embodies the best of British musical culture: curious, inclusive and deeply rooted in world music and Black music traditions. With 55 diverse artists and a programme that refuses uniformity, it stands as a refreshing alternative on the UK festival landscape.
❓FAQ
When is Stowaway Festival 2026, and how many nights on site?
The festival sets up at Stowe, Buckinghamshire, from 31 July to 2 August 2026 — three days of programming. Weekend tickets actually cover three nights of camping, as the campsite is open from 10am on Friday 31 July until midday on Monday 3 August.
Is camping included in the ticket?
It is with weekend tickets: general tent camping is part of the price, a short walk from the main arena, and you pitch wherever you like. Day tickets (£90 adult, £54 teen, £28 child) carry no camping rights at all. Vans and caravans need a dedicated 7 × 8 m pitch instead, and new for 2026 there is a limited number of 16 amp electric hook-ups (8 amps allowed per pitch, bring a cable at least 15 m long), available only for live-in vehicles.
What facilities are in the campsite?
Eco-friendly compostable toilets serviced throughout the weekend, hot private shower cubicles open round the clock, free drinking water points, clearly marked waste and recycling zones, breakfast and coffee traders, plus stewards on hand 24/7 with welfare and medical teams nearby. A quiet area and an accessible area are signposted on the site map; general pitches are first come, first served.
What is there for families, and from what age do children pay?
Under-2s go free; a child ticket (ages 2-12) is £70 for the weekend and the teen rate (13-17) £137, and every under-18 must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. All kids' activities are included with no add-ons: canoeing and paddleboarding on the lake, tree climbing, the Cloud 9 roller rink, lifeguarded wild swimming, circus and bushcraft workshops, classic fairground rides, the Stowywood filmmaking club (ages 7-14) and Scrufts, the junk-and-scraps creature parade.
What are the food options?
The campsite has breakfast traders, quality coffee stalls and late-night bites, with vegetarian, vegan and allergy-friendly choices. For a sit-down meal, the Palm House runs a family bottomless brunch (£45 adults, £12 children, with a kids' pancake buffet, games and face painting), a three-course bottomless Sunday roast with 90 minutes of drinks (£65 / £25), and the Bramos live-fire woodland feast (£55), back for its third year.
How accessible is the site?
Stowaway is a green-field event with only some tarmac and hardstanding, so ground conditions depend on the weather and no internal transport is available. The team provides accessible toilets, showers and water points in the campsite, accessible toilets in the arena, priority parking for blue badge holders, a dedicated camping area less than 50 m from the arena, mobility scooter charging and secure cold storage for medication. A free Personal Assistant pass is granted on proof of eligibility, requested by email once your own ticket is bought and before 17 July 2026; registered guide and assistance dogs are welcome, other pets are not.
Can you leave the site and come back?
Yes — once you have your wristband you can come and go as you please, including if you are staying locally and commuting in each day. Re-entry to the festival grounds is only allowed between 08:00 and 23:00.
How long has the festival been running?
Grown out of a backyard gathering between friends, Stowaway enters its fifth year in 2026 and remains completely independent, still put together by the same crew.
