📋About
SonneMondSterne 2026: techno, drum & bass and rave culture on Saalburg Beach
On Saalburg Beach, on the shores of the Bleiloch reservoir in Thuringia, SonneMondSterne (SMS) gathers rave culture devotees every August. This three-day festival is one of Germany's most respected techno and electro events, combining quality programming with a strong community spirit.
The 2026 edition boasts a top-tier bill: Skrillex, the iconic global EDM producer with an extraordinary trajectory, shares the stage with PAUL KALKBRENNER, the guiding force of Berlin techno. SCOOTER, a German rave legend, and ANGERFIST, master of hardcore techno, complete a line-up that covers every facet of hard electronics.
SMS stands out for its exceptionally wide sonic palette: house, drum & bass, trance, hardcore techno and breakbeat coexist in a programme that makes no concessions on intensity. Gabber, hard techno and psytrance deliver the most extreme adrenaline rushes.
SonneMondSterne is an institution of German rave culture: its name — Sun, Moon, Stars — evokes the total sensory experience of a weekend spent between music, nature and community. With 48 artists and its unique lakeside setting in Thuringia, it represents the very essence of electronic festival culture at its most authentic and intense.
