Area 53: Austria's Essential Metal Festival
From July 16 to 18, 2026, Area 53 establishes itself as one of Austria's major metal gatherings. Located in the iconic Area 53 region, this festival presents an exceptional lineup bringing together legends of heavy metal, death metal, and thrash metal.
The main stage will host legendary acts like Saxon, pioneers of NWOBHM, alongside Swedish icons In Flames, emblematic figures of melodic death metal. Headliners also include Arch Enemy, masters of melodic death metal, and Canadian innovators Voivod, true pioneers of progressive metal.
The festival will also showcase the new generation of metal with Bleed From Within, Scottish representatives of modern metalcore, Self Deception with their energetic melodic metalcore, and Visions of Atlantis for a touch of symphonic metal. Underground acts like Agathodaimon, Vinegar Hill, and Watch Them Fail complete a rich and diverse lineup.
With its three days of intense concerts, Area 53 stands as the gathering place for the entire Central European metal community, offering an authentic and powerful experience for all extreme music enthusiasts.
